Nicolas M. Stewart,[2] also known as Nick, is a character that appears in Oxenfree II: Lost Signals and a walkie-talkie contact on channel 5. He is an ex-Airforce veteran who has always dreamed of exploring the unknown. Now, he is a fisherman.
Biography[]
Nick worked as a miner in Camena along with his colleague and lover, Rachel. Unfortunately, Rachel passed away due to an accident in the mines while Nick was out of a job.[3] Despite the tragedy, Nick enjoys reminiscing about Rachel's memories.[4]
He also served in the military in the Air Force.[5] Although he has always wanted to fly, he could not pilot due to his height surpassing the 6'4'' foot limit to be an astronaut by an inch.[6] Therefore, he turned to sailing to soothe his itch to stand on unexplored land.[7]
Riley first meets him on her way to place a transmitter on Charity Point through the walkie-talkie. Nick asks Riley to find his blue bag, which can be found south of Waterhead Bluffs, in a small hut that appears to be an outpost for fishermen.[8] Inside, there is a mounted fish on the wall nicknamed 'Wally.'[9] After completing this request, Nick will be silent for a while but then get back in touch to ask Riley to check on him throughout the night.

Nick's dog tag.
If the player engages in talking to him, Riley can steer Nick through the rough seas around Camena. Eventually, Nick is caught in a storm and finds a portal in the sky.[10] Then, Riley can teach him how to open the portal. If so, he will enter and the player will receive the "Light of Possibility" achievement and his dog tag at the ending sequence.

The whole operation shut down after that. I was out of a job.

Riley: Well, yeah, which kid didn’t wanna be an astronaut growing up? Over.
Nick: Yeah, never grew out of it. Some… most… might argue I still haven’t. But… I was too tall, ya see. They cap astronauts at six foot four. I’m over by a single inch. - ↑ Nick: Never quite shook the bug to—ya know—stand somewhere no one else ever had. That’s why I bought the boat.
- ↑ Nick: There’s an outpost for local fisherman near you— Can you take a minute and check if a blue backpack is in there?
- ↑ Riley:
Oh, hey, you have a giant fish on your wall, I don’t know if you realize.
Nick: Yeah, that’s Wally. Long story. Well not really a long story, we caught a fish and named it Wally. - ↑ Nick: Riley. There’s something here… in front of me. It’s like the sky is bisected. Or folded into itself. It’s like… it’s like a door. Only, not your handle and deadbolt variety, it’s— This is something else. Some sorta… electricity?
